OVERVIEW
Get to know the brand like a person
We build a brand the way you get to know a person. Who is it, how does it talk, what would it never wear. Once that is clear, the design decisions get easy.
For ReJen Pilates that meant a logo and monogram, a four colour palette, EB Garamond for headlines and a set of business cards and class posters. For Sleek Silhouettes Medspa in Langley it meant a warm palette of sand, taupe, nude brown and champagne, with a rule that black never appears.
Every identity ends in guidelines. They cover colours, type, photo style and how the brand talks, so the next poster looks right even if someone else makes it.
WHAT YOU GET
What the identity includes
- Logo and marks. Primary logo, horizontal and stacked versions, a small mark for profile pictures.
- Colour palette. Named colours with HEX, RGB and CMYK values for screen and print.
- Typography. Headline and body fonts, with a Korean pairing when you need one.
- Photo style. Light, colour grading and framing rules for shoots and phone photos.
- Voice. How the brand writes captions, replies and signs, with examples.
- Guidelines file. One document that holds all of it, yours to keep.
FAQ
Questions about brand identity
How long does a brand identity take?
Most identities take three to six weeks from research to final guidelines, depending on how many rounds of feedback you want.
Can you refresh an existing logo instead of replacing it?
Yes. Often the better move is to keep what customers already recognise and tidy the system around it.
Do I own the files?
Yes. You get the final logo files, fonts list and guidelines to keep.
What are brand guidelines?
A short document that sets your colours, fonts, photo style and voice. It lets anyone who makes something for the brand get it right the first time.
